From the village center to the Mönichkichner Schwaig
A leisurely uphill trail leads from the center of Mönichkirchen up to the Mönichkirchner Schwaig, where there are numerous places to stop for refreshments.
Then it's downhill on a flowing single trail through the forest back to Mönichkirchen. A perfect route for a casual mountain bike excursion for beginners or those who simply love rushing along natural trails.

Please be considerate of other path users and pay special attention to children. At intersections, watch out for hikers.
E-mountainbikes for adults and children are available for rent at Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen during the operating hours of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen.
We recommend booking rental bikes online in advance, as availability cannot be guaranteed for spontaneous visits.

A roadworthy, well-maintained mountain bike (hardtail or full suspension)
Protective gear: helmet (mandatory), knee and elbow pads
Cycling clothing + rain gear (even in good weather, in case it gets windy/cool at Hochwechsel)

A large parking lot is available free of charge.
From Vienna:
Take exit 69 Edlitz/Aspang on the Südautobahn/E59 and follow B54 towards Aspang, then continue on B54 to Mönichkirchen am Wechsel. Turn into the town and drive to the ski lift parking lot.
From Graz:
Take exit 95-F Friedberg/Pinggau on the Südautobahn/E59, turn left and first follow B63, then turn onto B54 towards Mönichkirchen.
Exit: Aspang-Markt train station, continue with bus line 371 to Mönichkirchen/Hotel Thier stop
