Circular hike starting from the Brettlbar restaurant 970 m in Mönichkirchen directly on the B54, to the Berghotel Ocherbauer 750 m, through Tauchen past the former Gasthof Schwarz 650 m and the Gasthof Putz-Aminger 650 m, then left towards Tauchenbach, along the stream towards Mönichkirchen, crossing the B54, to the Dreiländerblick Müllner-Rehberger restaurant 970 m, through the village back to the starting point.
Parking is available right in front of the rest stop
From Vienna: Take the A2 Südautobahn through the Pittental valley to the Edlitz-Aspang exit, then continue on the B54 federal highway toward Aspang and on to Mönichkirchen.
From Graz: Take the A2 Südautobahn to the Zöbern exit toward Aspang—then continue to Mönichkirchen via the B54, or take the Pinggau exit and follow the B54 federal highway.
From the Aspang-Markt train station, take bus line 371 to the Rasthaus Lang bus stop.
Definitely worth a visit—the Brettlbar, which opened in 1961 as a rest stop and refreshment spot for travelers and has since become a popular excursion destination thanks to its unique charm. And anyone who’s ever visited Margit Fuchs-Lang’s culinary gem on the B54 keeps coming back. From Ray Charles to Elfriede Ott, from Peter Alexander to Bruno Kreisky: A glance at the Brettlbar’s guestbook reveals that there’s hardly anyone who hasn’t been here.
