Brief description

Eine Tour für Klein bis Groß, mit Biss aber viel Spaß zu bewältigen. Stolz und Adventure garantiert.  Für ausdauernde Kids oder ideal als E-Bike Tour.  Auf den Panorama Trails der Wexl Trails schlängelt sich diese Route auf den höchsten Punkt des Wechselgebirges im südlichen Niederösterreich an der Grenze zur Steiermark. Hoch hinaus zwischen Wien und Graz und unweit des Trailparks in St. Corona am Wechsel, als ideale Ergänzung zum Wochenendausflug. 

Description

The e-bike tour starts at the Steyersberger Schwaig, which offers a worthwhile refreshment stop at the end of the tour. A forest road leads up to the Kranichberger Schwaig and on to the Dreiländer Eck.

 

Approaching the view over the Bucklige Welt, the tour continues up to the Hochwechsel at 1,743m above sea level. You have to work hard for the last stretch to the summit, as the hilly meadow up to the summit demands a little more strength from your calves. Once the climb is over, the whole family can feel a sense of elation, as the most strenuous part is now behind them. Once at the top, you must enjoy the view as far as Vienna and Budapest during a short break with a snack at the trail entrance or in the

Wetterkoglerhaus.

 

Downhill trails:

After a short break at the highest point of the tour, but not the end of the elevation gain, there is a descent that all members of the family can look forward to. With a constant view and a crisp but super-flowy surface, the highest legal trail in Lower Austria, "The WU"

downhill. After this experience, the kids have definitely earned a buttermilk on the Marienseer Schwaig to let the pleasure of the descent sink in and to fortify themselves for the last few meters and the last short climb. From there, it's a leisurely return via a forest road to the Dreiländer Eck to the starting point at the Steyersberger Schwaig.

Ein Parkplatz ist auf der Steyersberger Schwaig vorhanden

Fahrtüchtiges, gewartetes Mountainbike (Hardtail oder Full-Suspension)

Safety information

Hinweisen muss man auf die Namensgebung des Randgebirges: Der Wechsel macht seinem Namen aller Ehre, wenn es um den Umschwung der Wetterlage geht. Startet man bei Sonnenschein und Plusgraden, kann oftmals eisiger und kalter Wind am Gipfel um die Nase wehen. Aber auch umgekehrt kann einem die Sonne am Höhepunkt erwarten, obwohl man im Nebel gestartet ist. Daher unbedingt die Wetterlage bei der Tourenplanung mit einberechnen und den Rucksack besser mit einer weiteren Kleidungsschicht bepacken.
