The Hallerhaus, located at 1350 meters above sea level, is near the Mönichkirchen mountain station and is easily accessible on foot or in combination with a chairlift ride.
Description
The ascent to the Hallerhaus starts from the Elebnisalm Mönichkirchen. Depending on how long and far you want to walk, you can either take the "Sonnenbahn" cable car to the Mönichkirchner Schwaig or hike to the summit station via the Lebenswasser theme trail. There you will find several places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation, as well as playgrounds for children. A short detour to the Alpengasthof Enzian or the Berggasthof Mönichkirchner Schwaig before continuing on. You reach the Hallerhaus somewhat off the beaten track through quiet forests. Founded in 1910, the mountain inn has been renovated several times since its opening and is now popular with skiers in winter and hikers in summer thanks to its easy accessibility. Don't miss the Blunzng'röstl with homemade blood sausages!
Mönichkirchen is also the starting point for a stage on the trail along the Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail ) to the Feistritzsattel, which leads past the Hallerhaus.

Route description Winter hiking to the Hallerhaus (from Mönichkirchen)
From the valley station of the Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen, we follow a path along the lift to the mountain station. Right at the mountain station, we see the mountain inn Mönichkirchner Schwaig and also the Alpenhotel Enzian. We go past them on the left and see the Hallerhaus sign in front of the trees. Continue to keep left and follow the path. At the fork in the path, we go straight up the somewhat steep slope. We are on the first level, about halfway through the hike. At the next fork, we keep right again. We follow the path towards the next group of trees.
At the front tip of the group of trees, there is a signpost with signs "Loipe" and "Hallerhaus". We follow the path. We come to a wide path surrounded by fields and forest. After a few meters in this piece of forest, we have already reached our destination.

From Vienna coming on the A2 take the Edlitz exit, continue on the B54 Wechsel federal road and follow the signs to Mönichkirchen.
From Graz coming on the A2 take the Pinggau exit towards Friedberg and follow the signs to Mönichkirchen.
Parking
Parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen.
Take the regional train from Wiener Neustadt station to Aspang, then continue by regional buses to Mönichkirchen.
