A tasty experience The Bergkästrail loop from Aspang stretches over 11.5 kilometers with 280 vertical meters and offers a challenging, varied and breathtaking route for mountain bikers of all experience levels.

Accessible from May 15 to Nov. 1

Use of the Wexl Trails trail network only with a valid trail entry ticket( availableonline or at the points of sale).

The route starts at Aspang-Markt train station and continues through the village to the district of Hoffeld. From there via Aspang Route #19 to the Bergäserei. Be sure to make a stop here for a snack of homemade mountain cheese and to watch the cows graze on the pasture before heading downhill on the Bergkäs Trail. Uprooted and not rocky, the trail meanders downhill on a mix of slope crossings and flat, open bends. The Hottmannsgraben takes you to the "Unteraspang" district and the starting point of the tour.

If you want to ride again, you can take the Aspang route uphill again, or take the VOR bus from Aspang-Markt station to the Wexl Arena in St. Corona. Click here for the VOR timetable.

From the trail center in Unternberg, you can take the Aspang Route #19 back to the mountain cheese dairy and the start of the Bergkäs Trail.

From the A2 exit Edlitz/Aspang (Exit 69) take the B54 Wechselbundesstraße following the signs to Aspang am Wechsel.

Take the Südbahn to Wr. Neustadt and the Aspangbahn to Aspang Markt station

Public transport to the Wexl Trails is already easily possible on weekends from Friday to Sunday thanks to bike trailers on the VOR bus line. The VOR line runs the route from Aspang-Markt station via St. Corona and Kirchberg am Wechsel on Saturdays and Sundays at 7:35, 9:35, 11:35, 14:35, and 16:35 with a bike trailer (space for up to 20 bikes).
